For over 18 years, Paul has been helping people succeed in becoming lifelong piano players. He is a piano enthusiast who has toured factories overseas and in the U.S., including those of Steinway, Yamaha, Mason & Hamlin, and Baldwin and received training from over a dozen manufacturers. Paul is an advocate for music education and an active member of both the New York State Music Teachers Association and the Piano Technician's Guild. He currently serves as Vice President of the Capital District Council for Young Musicians.
Rick has been serving the music community in the Capital Region for over 30 years, giving him a unique perspective on the changes in the piano industry. He has worked diligently to help Upstate schools like the Crane School and Union College become All-Steinway Schools and continues to work with schools like the College of St. Rose and RPI earn the prestigious designation. A talented violist, he performs regularly with regional symphony orchestras.
Terrilyn hails from a family of educators in Saratoga Springs, where her mother has taught piano for many years. Terrilyn holds a Master of Education and a Bachelor degree in Music from Russell Sage College and continues to study with top piano pedagogists. Equally adept in teaching children or adults, Terrilyn focuses on developing a strong foundation of music theory and technique in order to foster lifelong musicianship, while keeping students inspired with personalized music selections.
Brian Axford is an accomplished musician with a broad range of performance experience including solo and ensemble work, serving as accompanist for stage plays and church choirs, and numerous recording projects. He holds a Master of Music from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Music from the prestigious McGill University in Canada. Brian is equally adept with children and adults and can teach a wide variety of musical styles, including classical, jazz, blues, and other popular styles of music.
Jonathan has been a professional piano technician since 1995 and he has serviced the pianos of many prominent area venues, including Proctor's Theater, The EMPAC center at RPI, Capital Repertory Theater, the City of Albany office of Special Events, and many others. He Apprenticed for three years under Master Rebuilder, Rand Reeves, and he attended Yamaha's Little Red Schoolhouse technical training program. Jonathan is also an accomplished musician who attended Berklee College of Music.
Steve is a graduate of the American School of Piano Tuning and is an associate member of the Piano technician's Guild. Steve started tuning professionally at the age of 20. Steve tunes by ear, and specializes in piano repair, and minor reconditioning of acoustic pianos. In addition, he is the only piano Technician in the Albany area that still repairs Wurlitzer and Rhodes electric pianos. Steve plays many instruments, including all keyboard instruments, guitar, bass, and drums.
